My brother and I have been going through a phase of digging out our old Xbox games and playing through them together. So far we’ve gone through Halo 1+2 and SW: Battlefront 1+2 (which aren’t technically FPS, I know). So now we are looking for something else to play, but everything that I can think of doesn’t have any good co-op modes. I thought COD3 might have but apparently not, same with Republic Commando, so there must be a few classic Xbox titles that can keep us entertained before we go out on a Friday night?

Not entirely sure why this has been moved considering I didn’t really want a discussion but just a few quick ideas, and ATF is always littered with threads recommending games for various friends and family.

I did search, but it doesn’t work. I even trawled through the the pages back to the beginning of December and couldn’t find anything…

So, tried the demo of this earlier… Surprise, surprise, I was quite taken with it. Lots of interesting stuff going on, liking the way you capture waypoints and then move on, and loving the little toys you get given - the remote control bomb car and the helicopter. Marvellous stuff. And then you get a tank, which got blown up just after I ditched it, but a quick rocket launcher later and I had taken out all the tanks by hand.

Quite a chunky demo. Oh, and seems to have a really good story as well, what with it all being based around the loss of fuel, the decay of society and the subsequent war the erupts to control the remaining fuel as the world goes back to the steam age in just a few years. (I actually heard that we will soon be at Peak Oil Usage Time (or something) and that we will soon be needing more solid fuel than the world can produce to keep everything going) I like the sound of playing an FPS with some interesting ideas for squad command and the ability to control lots of different stuff in a not too distant dystopian world.

Now, bring on the naysayers. I await thee with open arms.

Divineo has confirmed to us that in around 10 days, Datel are set to release FreeLoader for the Nintendo Wii. The product allows you to play import games from all over the globe and a single version works on PAL, USA and JAP consoles.

Likelihood of this actually being true? Who knows. I remember similar announcements around this time last year.
