Some of the interesting pairings that resulted include Phil Ivey being paired against PokerStars qualifier Alisha Kunze. She battled her way to a seat for free at PokerStars.net, proving she’s got what it takes to compete in heads-up action.

However, Ivey is coming off his first World Poker Tour win, which he added to his resume Thursday night at the WPT L.A. Poker Classic while the other NHUPC players were partying.

Phil Hellmuth also made the final table of the LAPC where he came in sixth place. He’s matched up against Tom “durrr” Dwan, an online player who started making a name for himself in the live poker world toward the end of 2007 when he came in fourth at the WPT World Poker Finals.

Despite women comprising a low percentage of the playing field, the first round will have some girl-on-girl action as well with Jennifer Tilly and Clonie Gowen facing off.

The tournament has a $1,500+$80 buy-in, but the poker site has been hosting qualifiers for the event for as little as $3+30¢. It’s not too late to join in on the action either. There are still ongoing sit-and-gos and other ways to win the buy-in for the tournament.

The tournament kicks off at 8 p.m. (GMT) on Sunday, and according to a source at Titan Poker, there are only about 620 runners signed up for the tournament so far, creating an attractive overlay for players.

That’s not all Titan Poker has on the horizon for players either. The European Championship of Online Poker II will be coming up in May, and soon the poker site will be starting up satellites for those tournaments as well.

This time around the ECOOP will offer $3.5 million in guaranteed cash spread through 10 events. The main event, a $1,000+$60 No Limit Hold’em event, will have a $1.5 million guaranteed prize pool.

The ECOOP II is scheduled to run May 23 to June 1. It will include several Limit and No Limit Hold’em events as well as some Omaha events.

Now would be a great time to sign up at Titan Poker to take advantage of the millions of dollars of guaranteed tournaments each month and the upcoming special events. By signing up through PokerListings.com, players will have access to all sorts of exclusive benefits as well.

First off, PokerListings.com offers players the world’s best sign-up bonus at Titan Poker, offering an exclusive $600 sign-up bonus at 200% match. Plus, players that deposit more than $100 will get a $50 bonus up front.

Once signed up, PokerListings.com players have access to exclusive tournaments such as a monthly $5,000 freeroll for PokerListings.com players that qualify. Plus the two sites have teamed up to offer $180,000 in World Series of Poker prize packages between now and the Main Event.
