“At a “strategy level” Microsoft wants to be first to the market again with its next-generation Xbox, Entertainment & Device Devision boss Robbie Bach has said.

Speaking during an interview with Venture Beat, Bach said that if you asked him whether being first to market with Xbox 360 was the right decision, he’d say “definitely yes,” and the platform holder has a desire to do it again with the next console.”

That’s nice. I just hope they’re not gonna rush it out again and build it from cheap and shitty hardware

I bought, and am reading the “Spectrum Game Bible” - anyone else?

A heap of modern reviews of old speccy games split over six voulmes. Voulme 1 (1982-1984) is out and features a load of reviews from different people (including a few written I’ve written - although I AM reading the other one’s too). It also has some of the ones Andrew Rollings wrote for his book [which is nice for those who didn’t buy it but a bit frustrating for those of us who did.]

Anyway I’m up to page 50 of 260 odd and it’s interesting to see differing review styles and opinions - and there is the odd review that’s made me crack open my emulator. It’s nothing like as glossy as Andrew’s book - black and white pics etc. but covers many more games.

Another thing I think is interesting is that they are using lulu.com to print it. On demand printing - which means zero outlay, but not a great deal of return per book. I wonder if more and more niche books will take this route.
